OFF TOPIC- What is your guilty pleasure?

We are going to try something a little different. Every so often we are going to have a post called Off Topic. This was suggested by "MOM" and we think it is a great idea. Our Off Topic topic today is - What is your guilty pleasure?

Every morning I fix myself a big cup of hazelnut coffee and watch "Mad About You" reruns before I go to work(I've seen them ALL more than once). Sometimes I'll skip a day and record them so I can ff through the commercials...hehehe. My husband makes fun of me and says that I secretly want to marry Paul Rieser. That's kinda true;-)

Oh, and internet gossip...lol

Nice bed linens - there is something to be said about jumping in to cool, crisp, clean hotel-like sheets and linens in fun pjs early in the eve and watching the boob tube! Add a glass of wine and/or chocolate for extra pleasure! :-)

I have to add one more thing thanks to Nina - the daily puppy! I know I'm a big dork, but every morning I scroll down to see whose wet nose is there to greet me! It almost makes me want another puppy. Almost.

Chardonnay and dark chocolate!

I'm having both right now.

"Dancing With The Stars." You would swear the world stops Tuesdays & Wednesdays after 8pm. What mom rushes kids to bed for that? Well sadly me.....I cant wait! That with hot cooca, cheese with crackers with a blanket. The best night period!

Ok, is there something wrong with me that nearly ALL the posters guilty pleasures are also on my list?!

Chocolate, jumping in a cozy bed early to watch reality tv (like "Dancing With the Stars"!, wine, internet gossip (both celebrity and political) all make my list. Well everything in moderation, right?

A few more:

-Rewatching my favorite J&K episodes more than once. Um, ok, I admit, I can practically recite all the dialogue from the Alexis alligator museum visit!

-Burritos (or really anything that has cheese, guacamole and sour cream!)

-Long hours spent in bookstores and their cafes on the weekends.

Doritos or other salty snacks. A staple of college dorm life. I don't buy them very often, but when I do...yum. I'm not good at sharing them, either.

My guilty please was playing "UNO" on xbox 360 live. Until today, that is. If you click on my name, it will take you to my blog. Normally there isn't anything on there but what happened to me tonight was so bad that I blogged about it.

Musicals is mine. The Sound of Music is my favorite. I also love Oklahoma, The Music Man, My Fair Lady. That doesn't age me does it?

Watching all type of reality shows is my guilty pleasure - now that we have Bravo that is my favorite channel (oh, and Judge Judy!) Scrapbooking is the one thing outside my family I love to do and never have time for.

OMG! I'm so glad to hear of more Judge Judy fans! My friends make fun of me no end for this!! :-) She's the BEST. I'd love to see what she'd with GWoP evidence "Don't tell me what they SAID." or "If you tell the truth, you don't have to have a good memory."

I don't watch TMZ, but I do go to the website at least once a day. Usually at my lunch break when I am eating my Lean Cuisine meal...

And, yes, count me as one who has gone to the Celebrity Baby Blog site!

I have already admitted to my love for Judge Judy in another thread!

Reality TV, of all kinds. I draw the line at certain shows like "Flavor of Love", but I realize that anyone watching "Big Brother" or "Celebrity Fit Club" religiously doesn't have much room to judge.

Also, apparently, arguing pointlessly online about people I don't even know.

Ice cream, chocolate and wine are not guilty pleasures, but necessities of life.

Warm cinnamon rolls with extra pecans and icing!

Absolutely love Project Runway.

Swimming in the nude.

I agree with Linda! A big, buttery Chardonnay and dark chocolate, yum.

I also love a rainy Saturday when America's next top model marathons are on. It is so stupid, and like a train wreck, I can't turn away.

Total trailer-park classic rock! "Funk 49" by Joe Walsh ("Out all night/sleep all day/I know where you're goin/If you wanna act that way/there'll be trouble brewin")and ZZ Top's "Cheap Sunglasses" (that was BEFORE they had beards!). And note, I say "trailer-park" with the utmost respect.

Crud, this might be enough for people to gauge my real identity :)

Hey Everybody!!

I am still among the living, but barely after getting 3 children off to the first week of school (which would lead me to my first guilty pleasure of sleeping in late. LOL!)

Wow! alot has happened in my absence from the blogosphere. Had to take some time to catch up on my reading. I read Paul Peterson's site, love the new Gosselin site (posted my vote accordingly in this week's poll) and also read through the new "Truth" site. That's not E-Town Mom is it?

Okay, guilty pleasure. Can't believe I'm admitting to this as a God-fearing woman, but I L-O-V-E LOVE watching Rock of Love with Brett Michaels. Maybe it's because I'm a child of the 80's hair band era, or I simply like watching the train wreck unfold of drunken, silly, scantilly clad women (use that term loosely) throwing themselves at a rock star (use that term loosely) who covers his receding hair-line with the triple strength defense of a wig, bandana and cowboy hat. Where's my leather halter top? I need in on this action.

Cooking and baking--that always relaxes me.

Watching Jon and Kate plus 8-- it makes me thankful for my little three.

Chocolate and peanut butter-- it is soooo good together.

And recently reading blogs.

My guilty pleasure is reading romance novels--snort! This is truly ironic because I teach literature and language arts. It's not that I don't read or love classic literature, but I do enjoy a mindless, fun, somewhat naughty romp in popular literature. Some of my favorite authors are Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, Linda Howard, and Karen Marie Moning.

BTW: I was sent this great quote recently that totally sums up my philosophy regarding "guilty" pleasures!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body; but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WHOO HOO what a ride!"

GLO

Thanks for that quote. It made my day.

Reality tv, in all its worst forms. Rock of Love, I Love Money, Charm School, Shot at Love with Tila Tequila...oh I watch em all. If I had a DVR I'd record them all and watch them in succession.

I'm also a sucker for a good documentary, the weirder the subject the better.
