Several of the ladies from GDNNOP have joined together to create a new women’s website. Last Christmas several of us decided we liked discussing the off topics more than discussing "Jon and Kate Plus 8" and we started considering a name for a new web site.
It took us about a month and at the beginning of February we purchased the domain www.imperfectwomen.com. Since that time, we have been busily working on the new site and learning a lot as we went along. Recently, we invited regular posters whose email address we had to participate in the new site and today we are inviting you all!
We will still discuss "Jon and Kate Plus 8", but it will not be our main focus. The new site will give us the ability to write about many different issues and will feature articles to initiate discussions on various subjects. The new site features categories such as Relationships, Sports, Style, Well-Being and Entertainment, among others.
At this time, we are not going to have registration so we will not be using avatars. It is something we will consider in the future if people are interested.
We are inviting all of our GDNNOP posters (and lurkers!) to come on over and jump in. We would like to have people introduce themselves in "The Lounge" so we can all get reacquainted in our new home.
We will be leaving GDNNOP up for people to read previous posts, but it will no longer be an active site. Thanks for participating in and making GDNNOP a great experience. We are excited and hope you are also. Be sure to read our About Us page to learn more about those involved.
Hope to see you soon-
Pam (Nina Bell), Anya, Jennie (Guin), Lily (merryway), Nancy (mom), Lizabeth, Ann (Saint), Samantha (SamanthaNC), & Erin (nomoredrama),

I'm so glad to hear about this. I just took J&K off my season pass, and was telling my husband this morning that I was finished with it all, but I'd miss checking with this site. Lo and behold, you all were one step ahead of me. Can't wait to lurk over at your new home!
Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you enjoy the new site!
I'll try to stop by . . .
Hi everyone!
I hope everyone comes to join us at IW. We've been having a good time over there.
I'd like to thank everyone who participated here for what turned into a very interesting hobby for me. I want to thank you, Pam, for all the time and energy you put into this site. Nancy, Erin, Jennie, Anya, and Liz, you have my sincerest thanks as well. It's been great fun blogging here. I am very excited to branch out at IW.
It's a lovely Saturday where I am, too - a great day for new beginnings! I love everyone makes it over to the new site.
Hi everyone. I am having a great Saturday and looking forward to talking to everyone over at IW. Beautiful day here.
I'm also glad to hear about this and will definitely check it out. I have been following GDNNOP for quite a while, and I always liked the "normal" and compassionate tone of the postings. LOVE the name of the site too... imperfect women... right up my alley:)
You guys are doing the right thing! I have lurked here and snarked on J & K here and elsewhere but lately have really felt strongly that all of the sites should back off, for the sake of the kids. I would urge you to consider purging this site completely after a few months of dormancy.
Great job, good luck with your new site!
So glad the weekend is here- it has been a long week! Can't wait to see everyone at our new "home".
I love our new site and it was months in the making. In fact, over 6 months. We might have purchased our domain on 02/07/09 from Go Daddy, but anyone knows that with a group of women this size if took us well over a month to decide on a name. I think our first discussion of this started over the Christmas holidays.
We first met with a web guy in February and to try and save some money we started with a student at a local college. We were delayed somewhat by his school schedule and then found out that our site was more involved than what he was capable of doing and had to start over with a new person.
IW is not a template like Blogger or Wordpress. It is a site started from "scratch" and our webmaster has written and programmed all of the code. Because of that we had a lot of kinks to work out and probably will continue to have some down the road.
We took the month of April to work out those kinks and the month of May to get use to posting articles and making the needed changes and updates.
It has been a great learning experience for all of us and will continue to be so. I have enjoyed the experience and have toyed with the idea of taking some classes to learn more about the actual "website development."
Just wanted to say that you all have done a good job in providing a niche for many bloggers. We have had our ups and downs, agreements and disagreements, but I wish you all the best.
Personally, I think your desire to stop blogging about this tragedy is admirable. I have always thought the bloggers fueled the fire.
Sam, I think this will be a great place for you. I have enjoyed your comments all along. I will stop in and enjoy your postings.
Good luck,
Just to avoid confusion (because I think there are 2 or 3 other Erins who post on GDNNOP), I have never posted on this site using "Erin." I've always posted as "nomoredrama" or "notthatgirl" on another forum.
Im going to use Erin at IW. I realize, again, that this may be confusing. If need be, I'll throw in a distinguisher. My name is a common one :-)
To Nina and everyone from the new site!
I know that this has been such an exciting time for you all and as always I wish the best for your new site. I will be over there with bells on! Thanks for all your support and hard work creating this fantastic site!
Ummmm.....is anyone else finding out that their firewall is blocking the site? My work computer seems to think that a site called "imperfect women" must be porn!
Kinda reminds me the first time I tried to see if Dick's Sporting Goods had a site that I could order Little League stuff from.....
Heh.
wow, thanks MoreCowbell for the laugh. The ladies started a porn site for imperfect women. Let the rumor's begin!!
